Counselling and Psychotherapy in the Newcastle, Gateshead and Tyneside area
Due to the current Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and the need to maintain social distancing we will only be carrying out therapy sessions by video links such as Skype or Facetime to ensure the physical well being of all our clients.
I know the present situation can have an adverse effect on the mental well being of a lot of people but I would advise you to stay as calm as possible, keep yourself informed without obsessing over news reports and treat social media with caution.
This will eventually pass, in the meantime keep yourself and others as safe as possible by keeping to the lockdown rules.
if anyone has any questions or concerns just use the contact links to send me an email and I will answer within 24 hours maximum, usually very much less.
Hello, welcome to Mind over Matter Newcastle and congratulations on taking the first step, the most difficult one, in seeking help for whatever issue you are struggling to understand or come to terms with.
People just like you from the Newcastle and Gateshead area come to therapy for many different reasons. They may be having difficulty coming to terms with grief through the loss of a friend or relative, the breakup of a long term relationship, feelings of anxiety or panic attacks, traumatic incidents in their lives. These are just a few examples of the reasons people feel the need of extra support through counselling or psychotherapy.

At times in our lives we seem to encounter situations or come up against problems that just seem particularly difficult for us to understand and they persist and never seem to go away. This can lead to feelings of confusion and isolation, life seems to get on top of you and you don't know what is happening or who to turn to.
You are certainly not alone in feeling this way, just watch the news or read the papers and you will see many examples of people, some famous or well known, others just like you but all sharing the same feelings of confusion, fear, anxiety or depression. This is nothing at all to feel ashamed of, in fact facing up to your problems and taking action is something to be very proud of.
Where Do I Go Next?
It is important to have someone to talk to and open up to. Someone who understands your situation but will never judge you. Someone who is independent and not involved in what is going on?
A local Newcastle and Gateshead based Counsellor or Psychotherapist such as myself can be that person who will listen to you and never judge you but will use their Counselling and Psychotherapy skills to help you to come to terms with your problems and ultimately overcome them.

I believe we become emotionally unwell because we do not know how to manage the sudden and overwhelming emotions of a certain situation.
Talking therapies, such as Counselling Psychotherapy or Hypnotherapy, help us to remember the situation and enable us to deal with the emotions and come to terms with what has happened allowing us to find more suitable ways to overcome and cope with these emotions.
If you are within the Newcastle, Gateshead and Tyneside areas I can help you as a Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist to make improvements to your life. Just contact me at [email protected]
